At 87 years of age, Jerrold Siegal passed away. His prolific body of art is being represented by RobertKent Galleries. Jerrold’s artwork represents a lifetime of traveling and explores the world for its subjects. “It combines all the elements I love – I love to travel, I love archeology, I love Roman and Greek history,” he explained during a tour of his studio. “I have lived in Italy, Spain, Morocco, Costa Rica and Chile. The acrylic paintings adorning his home include a bridge in France, a doorway in Morocco and flora of the Virgin Islands. Jerrold uses ‘pointillism’ creating images with a series of dots and layers in the painting. He also designs hand-made sculptures and fountains ranging from a Roman airship to magnificent fountains created with glass, cement, acrylic and brass After majoring in art at the University of Illinois, Jerrold continued his graduate-level studies in commercial art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art. He worked as a commercial artist until a fateful visit to the Virgin Islands. Jerrold moved to the Virgin islands in 1981 with his wife Fern and began his retired career as an artist. After living there for 14 years, Jerrold decided to return to Atlanta. Jerrold’s work is individualistic, sensitive and meticulous.
